David Gold Becomes Secretary of the
Automotive Recyclers Association
MANASSAS, VA – Professional Automotive Recycler David Gold, Standard Auto Wreckers, Toronto, Ontario, was welcomed as Secretary of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) at the 71st Annual ARA Convention & Exposition held October 22-25 in Nashville, Tennessee. As the newest member to the Executive Committee of the Association, Gold will help direct the actions of the ARA, the voice of the professional automotive recycling industry. He will become President of the Association in 2017-18.
"David Gold has been on the Nominating Committee's list of possible candidates to serve on the ARA Executive Committee for many years," said ARA Past President and Chair of the Nominating Committee, Chris Wright. "We are very pleased that David accepted the position and is ready for the role and responsibilities that come with serving on the Executive Committee."
Gold has years of industry experience and is a highly respected leader in the professional automotive recycling community in the United States and Canada. Standard Auto Wreckers has been an active member of ARA, the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association and the Automotive Recyclers of Canada for many years.
When asked about his new position, Gold said, "I grew up in this industry and have watched it mature over the last two decades. I am so proud to be a part of this industry and I am truly lucky to now have the opportunity to help steer it into the future." As far as his plans for the future of ARA, Gold added, "I am really proud to be in an industry that is so important to both the economy and the environment. I have always been progressive minded in my own business and hope to bring that type of positive, forward thinking energy to my position with the ARA."
Standard Auto Wreckers has been in business for over 35 years and has locations in Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario as well as in Niagara Falls, New York. Earlier this month Gold opened a new facility in Port Hope, Ontario. Standard Auto Wreckers specializes in eco-friendly vehicle depollution, dismantling, and the sale of recycled automotive parts to allow drivers to keep their vehicles on the road longer, thereby helping them to save money and keep the planet green.
Since 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of “green” automotive parts, and the proper recycling of inoperable motor vehicles. ARA represents the interests of over 4,500 auto recycling facilities in the United States and fourteen other countries around the world. With programs such as the Certified Automotive Recycler Program (CAR), Green Recycled Parts, and other partnerships, ARA members continue to provide consumers with quality, low-cost alternatives for vehicle replacement parts, while preserving our environment for a “greener” tomorrow.
