Davis Receives Industry Lifetime Achievement Award
Manassas, VA – Past President of the Kansas Automotive Recycler Association, ARA Regional Director and longtime industry advocate, Paul Davis of A-Plus Parts & Salvage, Inc. in Wichita, KS was awarded the Automotive Recyclers Association’s (ARA) Lifetime Achievement Award during the 72nd Annual Convention and Exposition in Charlotte, NC. This award was given to Paul in recognition of his lifetime involvement in auto recycling and in ARA. Members of the ARA professional family joined together to celebrate this honor with Paul at the Association's Annual Awards Dinner on October 9th.
While Paul and his wife Darlene ran the automotive recycling business for 35 years, Paul served as the ARA Regional Director for Region 7, representing Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, and also received the ARA Regional Director of the Year award.
Paul serves as a voice for many professional automotive recyclers in the central plains states and is well respected within the industry for his knowledge, insight and thoughtful opinions on the trends and issues impacting the day-to-day operations of auto recycling businesses, for his keen political analysis, willingness to give back to the association and auto recycling community, and perhaps most of all for his always colorful and witty commentary.
He also is very active in his home state, serving on the Kansas Dealer Review Board for almost 4 years representing the Kansas Salvage Vehicle Dealers and appointed by Governor Brownback in 2012. In addition he is an appointed member of the District III Wichita Council Advisory Board which is responsible for preserving the assets and natural resources of the city.
ARA is proud to welcome Paul into the ranks of the Association's Lifetime Achievement Award recipients and is deeply appreciative of his significant contributions to the association and to the professional automotive recycling industry.
Since 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of “green” automotive parts, and the proper recycling of inoperable motor vehicles. ARA represents the interests of over 4,500 auto recycling facilities in the United States and fourteen other countries around the world. With programs such as the Certified Automotive Recycler Program (CAR), Green Recycled Parts, and other partnerships, ARA members continue to provide consumers with quality, low-cost alternatives for vehicle replacement parts, while preserving our environment for a “greener” tomorrow.
