Automotive Recyclers Association Heading West;
Will Offer 5 Tracks of Education and Training Sessions During 70th Annual Convention and Exposition

MANASSAS, VA - The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) will be meeting in Phoenix, Arizona next week for its 70th Annual Convention and Expo. For the first time, the program of educational and training sessions will be focused in five core areas critical to professional automotive recyclers: executive leadership, parts management and sales, market outreach, safety and environmental compliance, and facility management and performance. The annual event will take place at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and the Phoenix Convention Center on November 6-9.

"We are excited to be heading to Arizona this year," said ARA CEO, Michael Wilson. "ARA leadership and the Association's Events Advisory Committee have worked hard to assemble a program of top-notch educational and training opportunities focused on providing ARA members with the tools needed to achieve long-term success." Issues covered in the over 50 sessions offered include the latest on recycled OEM parts sales and how best to position inventory to insurance estimators, how to improve quality parts data, and how to identify innovative ways to reach more consumers with recycled OEM parts options. In addition, there will be an opportunity for training on the new Global Hazard Communication Standard requirements, sessions on the ARADirect online auction platform, and a segment with representatives from PartsTrader.

"Of particular interest to many of our members will be our three keynote speakers: Garry Ridge, CEO/President of WD-40, former Congressman J.D. Hayworth of Arizona, and Scott Blanchard, accomplished author and business consultant," said ARA President, Chris Wright. "We also look forward to continuing our family-oriented programs, such as the annual Ladies of the Automotive Recyclers Association (LARA) luncheon and family business network."

Online registration and complete program information is available at http://www.araexpo.org/2013/. On-site registration will be available at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Immediately following its Annual Convention, ARA will welcome automotive recyclers from around the globe to Phoenix as it hosts the 2013 International Roundtable on Automotive Recycling (IRT) on November 10-12. Program and registration information for the IRT is available at http://www.araexpo.org/2013/.

Since 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of “green” automotive parts, and the proper recycling of inoperable motor vehicles. ARA represents the interests of over 4,500 auto recycling facilities in the United States and fourteen other countries around the world. With programs such as the Certified Automotive Recycler Program (CAR), Green Recycled Parts, and other partnerships, ARA members continue to provide consumers with quality, low-cost alternatives for vehicle replacement parts, while preserving our environment for a “greener” tomorrow. To learn more about the Association, visit ARA’s Home Page at www.a-r-a.org or call (571) 208-0428.
